Paint By Numbers - How to mount your paint by numbers canvas
A question we get often so we have a few photos to show how we do it.
Obviously of you want a professional job, pop down to your local picture framer, but this method produces a pretty satisfactory result at a fraction of the cost.
we use a pre-stretched plain canvas from a local discount store. We generally use 40x50 cm sizes and the canvas we bought was about $10.00 .
The process is really simple. we use thumb tacks.
Simply align the edges of the stretched canvas with the sides of you canvas so only the numbered pattern is shown.
Pin the sides and fold over the comers and tack these to the back.
The canvas is now nice and taut and you are ready to paint.
We generally only paint in the 40x50 size. After a few paintings the pre-stretched frame has paid for its self.
If you can't find 30x40 cm framed canvas's you can still use a 40 x 50 (As below) as we are for our latest picture of our daughter.
