This limited edition cold cast bronze figurine remembers the men of the Australian Light Horse in the Great War of 1914-1918. As mounted infantry the light horse was not a conventional cavalry, rather the horses provided mobility and speed for men who would dismount and fight on foot. Typically they would approach the battle or target in sections of four riders.

One man would take the reins of all horse and lead them to safety while the other men joined the fight. The exception to this was at Beersheba on 31 October 1917, when 800 men of the 4th Light Horse Brigade charged, with bayonets in hand at the Ottoman stronghold of Beersheba. They charged over defences and captured the town and vital wells and water for their parched Waler mounts. This stunning figurine is limited to only 5,000 castings and comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

The figurine is approximately 240mm.

Cold cast bronze is a technique that involves blending bronze powder with polyester resin to give a sculpture with classic bronze look - but without the weight.
